You haven’t seen anything like this yet! To help satisfy your aesthetic needs we wish to invite you to a night called Off Motion – organized in association with the 2nd edition of the Off Plus Camera Festival. This is a unique display of video projection on the buildings in the centre of Krakow. The city and the urban interiors of the Market Square will be transformed into gallery corridors. The tenement houses will become the exhibition walls, ready to project the video installations. We work against stagnant gallery exhibition trends (so called white cube) and we want to prove that contemporary visual art does not necessarily have to be shown in cold, transparent and withdrawn spaces. Krakow is not just any place and that is why we are keen to use all of its merits. A starlit sky framed by lights will be the ceiling, and Krakow’s pavements will serve as floors, as well as the twinkling media images. The centre of Krakow will become a pulsating object prepared for the multimedia experiment.
By using the means of expression in video art the windows explode fire, uncanny beasts appear on the balconies and a large ominous eye will be watching between columns. There may be a few insertions of op-art style (optical illusion play), surrealism and the constructionist style, unrestricted expression in tones of dada, the abstract play of light, texture and intriguing shapes in constant motion. An important theme of the video program is connected with the film industry. There will be a real menagerie of film characters for your admiration and entertainment. Off Motion is a kaleidoscope of achievements from video makers all around the world. It is worth to get to know the latest trends in motion design as well as the art of digital media. Title sequences, animations and multi-media experiments are implicit works of art, with a sign of superior quality connecting a number of aesthetics and breaking visual taboos.
